The <p/><p/><p>Assistant Volleyball Coach (Part-time)</p><p/><p/><p> will assist the Head Volleyball Coach in coaching, recruiting, counseling, conditioning, and evaluating for the athletic team as directed</p><p>This position will remain open until filled</p><p>The duties of the Assistant Volleyball Coach include, but are not limited to: - Assist the head coach in the organization and supervision of practices and contests - Maintain standards of performance consistent with departmental academic and athletic expectations as reflected in the mission statement, goals, objectives, departmental guidelines, and performance appraisal procedures - Attend and participate in department and staff meetings as requested/required - Engage in fund-raising activities for the program in conjunction with the head coach, athletic advancement and its representatives - Work closely with others to include all students, staff, parents, media, and community representatives involved in LCC Athletics - Maintain as appropriate effective relationships with parents, alumni, friends of the program, and others toward the positive image and promotion of the program - Remain in full compliance with NJCAA, Region 10, and Lenoir Community College rules - Comply with all NJCAA rules and regulations, and acknowledges this compliance as part of an annual evaluation process - Assist in analyzing performance of team and adjust strategies as needed - Assist in evaluating opponents and developing game strategies - Assist with the administration of policies and procedures with respect to academic expectations for team members - Assist in the communication with academic advising staff regarding athletic academic performance - Assist in meeting with athletes on performance issues, study skills, and techniques for academic success - Assist in reporting scores in a timely manner to all score reporting areas - Recruit student athletes in the high schools primarily within N.C</p><p>and adhere to the recruiting rules established by the NJCAA - Attend all practices, trips and scheduled competitions including evenings and weekends - Assist in maintaining adequate records, statistics, scores, etc</p><p>of game results and student athletes' participation records and accomplishments - Demonstrate regular and predictable attendance - Assist in managing the equipment inventory and related duties as directed - Drive passenger van if needed - Represent the college, the athletic department, and the community in a positive manner - Must demonstrate program administration responsibility; will be evaluated by the Head Volleyball Coach/Athletic Director/Dean of Student Services - Read, understand, and abide by the current National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) Constitution and Bylaws, the Region X Constitution and Bylaws, and the sport rule book as identified in the NJCAA Constitution and Bylaws - Adhere to the rules and regulations of Lenoir Community College - Perform any and all other related duties as assigned or directed in order to promote, further, and ensure the effective and efficient operation of Lenoir Community College </p><p/><p>Qualifications</p><p/><p> - High school diploma or general education diploma (GED) and related work experience or an associate's degree from an institutionally accredited college or universityis preferred - One-two years of coaching experience, preferably at the collegiate level and/or have a background of volleyball at a high level - Demonstrate experience in training and instructing athletes in the game of volleyball - Experience in managing a sports team, knowledge of NJCAA rules and regulations; travel and non-traditional hours - Must have a valid NC driver's license - The candidate must not be currently enrolled at Lenoir Community College as a student </p><p/><p>Working Conditions</p><p/><p> - Work irregular hours p eriodically - Duties are normally erformed in a school/gym environment indoors - Duties may be performed away from school </p><p/><p>Notice of Nondiscrimination</p><p/><p> Lenoir Community College is an Equal Opportunity Employer</p><p>The College complies with existing federal, state, and local laws and regulations regarding nondiscrimination</p><p>The College prohibits discrimination against and/or exclusion from participation in any benefits or activities by any person, either on the staff and faculty or in the student body, on the grounds of race, color, creed, religion, national origin, sex, age, political affiliation, or disability.</p>
