Additionally, holds and maintains certification as a (CST) surgical technologist by the National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting (NBSTSA) or the National Center for Proficiency Testing or their successor. This position helps the surgical team by using equipment and tools to ensure a safe operating room and that equipment is available and working properly.

Performs routine and advanced Mammography imaging procedures on designated portions of the body for use by physicians in the diagnosing and treating of patient illness and/or injury with minimal amount of supervision or repeats scanned, while providing patient support by talking to patients throughout procedure. Explains and prepares patients for Mammography imaging procedures that will be performed, explaining the procedure, positioning patients so that the parts of the body can be appropriately.
