    • House keepers are required to work outdoors in all types of weather
    • The Zoo is open 365 days a year, so weekend and holiday work is required
    • Common household chemicals are used for/during cleaning. INTERNAL POSTING PERIOD: Position posting goes public after 10th day.KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, and ABILITIES:
    • Able to read and write English.
    • Able to understand and follow oral and written plans and instructions
    • Able to give written and oral reports
    • Able to stand and walk most of the day, climb stairs, and push cleaning equipment through the Zoo
    • Able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs.ADMINISTRATION Human Resources LICENSES AND CERTIFICATES: Current and Valid Louisiana Drivers LicenseEDUCATION and EXPRIENCE:
    • Must be at least 18 years of age
    • A high school diploma or GED from an accredited source
    • Cleaning experience is preferred
    • Household type handyman skills are preferred.EXAMPLES OF DUTIES:
    • Cleans Zoo offices, education building, restrooms, and public areas on Zoo property.
    • Typical duties include, but are not limited to, sweeping, washing windows, vacuuming, emptying trash, mopping floors, cleaning toilets, maintaining stock of cleaning supplies, and all other duties typical ofjanitorial/cleaningJobs
    • Tactfully enforces Zoo rules with the general public
    • Active in litter pick-up
    • Follows the Louisiana Governmental Code of Ethics for public servants
    • Performs other reasonable duties within the scope of work or in emergency situations as assigned by the appropriate authority.DEFINITION/DISTINCUISHINC CHARACTERISTICS OF JOB: // 1/ This is an advanced Housekeeper part-time position. Under the immediate supervision of the Office Manager, this employee cleans and maintains the offices, restrooms and public areas of the Zoo.
