WHAT YOU WILL ACHIEVE

As a Zero Waste and Recycling Event Coordinator, you will work onsite at live events to support our customers' waste reduction programs. This position is part-time and seasonal based on event schedules, with hours varying based on business needs.

HOW YOU WILL DO IT

  • Manage onsite sustainability programs from pre-event set-up, event day execution, and post-event tear down
  • Work collaboratively to communicate with Schupan staff, event staff, vendors, and stakeholders to resolve issues and build a working relationship
  • Service recycling, trash, and compost bins; sort material; load and unload equipment; maintain equipment inventory
  • Use effective communication skills to understand and follow written and verbal work instructions and safety standards, and complete all paperwork associated with equipment transportation, customer interactions, and deliveries
  • Perform all job duties in a friendly, courteous manner and adhere to all safety requirements
  • Respond to customers promptly
  • Perform other duties as assigned
  • Work alone and with a team in a collaborative environment; interact in person with coworkers and the public
  • Handle high stress situations

WHAT WE NEED FROM YOU

Basic requirements:

  • Minimum of 1 year of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Prior event management experience or sustainability industry knowledge is not required. Interest and willingness to learn about the recycling and sustainability industries is preferred

Physical requirements:

  • Occasionally lift, move, or position objects weighing up to 50 pounds
  • May be required to work outside in all weather conditions including, but not limited to: extreme heat, humidity, extreme cold, snow and rain

WHAT YOU CAN EXPECT FROM US

  • Pay Rate: $16.50/hour
  • Varied work schedule includes early mornings, late nights, weekends and holidays
  • Weekly pay
