Assistant Manager - Restaurant Operations"Consistently Create Encore Experiences that Enrich Lives One Person at a Time"Position OverviewThis is an hourly (non-exempt) leadership role that reports to the General Manager and ownership. As an Assistant Manager, you'll lead daily restaurant operations, making sure every guest has a great visit while keeping the location running to standard. You'll manage the team, the processes, and the flow of a shift - making sure policies, procedures, and service expectations are followed on the floor, in the kitchen, and at the counter.Key Duties & ResponsibilitiesTraining & DevelopmentComplete all required training, including the Assistant Manager Development Plan, Basic Operations Training, Food Safety Certification, Manager Certification, and any additional courses assigned through ZaxBax.Make sure every team member is properly trained, coached, and developed so they grow and perform at their best.Guest & Team ExperienceEnsure guests are consistently served with care and that the team goes above and beyond expectations on every order.Lead by example to build a positive, upbeat culture and keep team morale high through recognition and genuine appreciation.Keep a pulse on guest and team concerns, complaints, and incidents - responding quickly, respectfully, and keeping the General Manager informed.Operations & StandardsKeep service speed, food quality, and cleanliness at the level our guests expect.Make sure the team follows all Zaxby's Franchising LLC and ZaxBax guidelines, policies, and procedures every shift.Maintain compliance with all applicable federal, state, and local laws and regulations.Use the management tools available to keep accurate, organized, and current records.Leadership & StaffingPlan and delegate shift assignments, clearly communicating expectations and making adjustments as they come up.Coach and mentor team members to perform at their highest ability and work toward the location's quarterly goals.Assist with performance reviews and help develop team members into stronger performers.Communicate performance concerns to your General Manager in a timely manner.Create effective work schedules that meet company standards and comply with local law.Support sales forecasting and manage inventory to keep the restaurant stocked and running smoothly.Administer progressive discipline when needed.Safety & ReportingKeep a flexible attitude and a willingness to go above and beyond the scope of this description when the operation needs it.Make sure the team works safely and follows all safety guidelines and procedures.Immediately report any human resources or risk management concerns to the General Manager and owners, and escalate other issues to your supervisor when appropriate.Perform any other duties needed to keep the restaurant operating properly.QualificationsMust be at least 18 years old.Valid driver's license, vehicle insurance, and reliable transportation.Available to work a minimum of 32 hours per week.Flexible to work days, nights, weekends, and holidays.Strong leadership qualities, organizational skills, and the ability to work well with others.Prior leadership experience is a plus.Physical & Work RequirementsWe will consider reasonable accommodations that don't create an undue hardship on the business:Ability to sit, stand, and walk continuously throughout a shift.Ability to stoop, bend, crouch, and climb (including using ladders) occasionally.Ability to frequently lift, push, pull, and carry up to 50 pounds, including overhead.Continuous use of hands and wrists for grasping and fine manipulation.Ability to communicate clearly through speech, reading, and writing.Sufficient visual and hearing awareness to observe and respond to the environment.Comfortable working in a setting with hot and cold temperature changes and exposure to food allergens.Ability to operate restaurant equipment safely, including knives, fryers, and other potentially hazardous equipment.AcknowledgmentBy receiving this document, I confirm that I have reviewed these responsibilities and will follow the expectations laid out here.
