Description

Core Requirements:
  • Clearance: Active Secret Clearance is required.
  • Experience: 8+ years of hands-on experience as a z/OS Systems Programmer.
  • Subsystems: Experience with one or more major subsystems (CICS, DB2, IMS, MQ).
  • Operations: Experience managing Disaster Recovery (DR), backup/restore, and high-availability environments.
  • Availability: Ability to work in a 24x7 mission-critical environment.
Technical Expertise:
  • Deep understanding of z/OS internals, JES2/JES3, WLM, and SMP/E.
  • Proficiency with REXX, JCL, and standard mainframe utilities.
  • Knowledge of TCP/IP, VTAM, and z/OS network configuration.
Professional Skills:
  • Strong diagnostic, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and documentation abilities.
  • Collaborative team player with a focus on quality and reliability.
  • Adaptability to learn emerging mainframe and automation technologies.
Preferred Qualifications (Nice to Have):
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or equivalent experience.
  • Automation: Experience with z/OSMF, Ansible for z/OS, and modern automation frameworks.
  • Security: Exposure to security tools (zSecure), RACF administration, and federal compliance frameworks (NIST, STIG, RMF).
  • Infrastructure: Mainframe experience in Cloud, MFaaS (Mainframe as a Service), or hosting environments.
