Job Title: Youth Specialist, Middle School AcademiesDescription: The YMCA is seeking energetic and dedicated child care Youth Specialists to provide direct supervision in a safe, fun and educational environment for all Middle School Academy participants. Our Leaders provide a quality experience to children and parents focused on YMCA core values: honesty, respect, responsibility, and caring. Schedule:Before-school hours: 7:00am - 9:30am. After-school hours: 3:30pm - 6:00pm. Flexible schedules may consist of before school, after school, or a combination of both.Duties:Supervises an assigned group of children to ensure safetyNurtures children and provides academic growth opportunities that support the school curriculumEngages children by facilitating program activities that are designed to enrich their livesEstablishes a positive rapport with children, parents, and staff while maintaining a positive and professional attitude at all timesRequirements:Must be 18 years of age or olderMust have a high school diploma or equivalentor if currently enrolled in high school or a GED program & graduation is anticipated within 2 years.1 year previous child care experience is preferredDesire and ability to work with children of all agesDemonstrated responsibility and dependabilityExcellent communication skillsCPR/AED and First Aid Certification preferred, but will providePass a 10-panel drug screenClear a Level 2 background check*Pay & Perks: Part-time, $15.00 per hour.
