Job Overview
Are you passionate about youth sports and making a positive impact in your community? We’re seeking high-energy and motivated Officials to referee youth soccer games (age 3-14).
The Official is a critical, hands-on role on any sports field; responsible for enforcing rules while also cultivating a positive culture, acting as an on-field coach, and advocating for the sports programs. This role has a direct impact on players, coaches, and spectators each and every game day.
This position is based in the Hayward / San Leandro Area, California.
Duties
- Understand & enforce the i9 Sports rule books while ensuring a fun, educational, and safe environment for all players
- Teach & demonstrate core concepts, including Sportsmanship values
- Keep time and score during the game
- Manage an age-appropriate level of instruction and competition
- Consistently demonstrate a positive attitude and superior customer service skills
Position Type: Part-Time W-2 Employee (usually on Saturdays)
Requirements
- Enjoy working with kids
- Knowledge of basic soccer rules and game flow
- Clean Background Check
- Reliable transportation to and from games and training
- Be confident and capable of dealing with parents and upholding the i9 Sports philosophy
- Excellent communication skills
- Ability to work on the weekends (this role is primarily focused on Saturday games)
- Previous experience is a plus, but not required.
