What You'll Do

As a Part-Time Youth Development Specialist, you will provide supervision, guidance, mentoring, and support to youth in a structured residential environment. You’ll work as part of a dedicated team focused on providing a safe, supportive environment where adolescents can BUILD BETTER FUTURES. 

Your responsibilities may include:

  • Supervise and support youth during daily activities while maintaining a safe and secure environment.
  • Build positive, professional relationships and serve as a mentor and role model.
  • Observe youth behavior and provide appropriate support and intervention when needed.
  • Assist with facility safety and security, including headcounts, room checks, and monitoring client movement.
  • Facilitate and document groups, activities, and other required services.
  • Follow program policies, procedures, and Safe Crisis Management (SCM) practices.
  • Support and promote the Sanctuary Model and its Commitments.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent
  • Non-communicable diseases physical exam.
  • At least twenty-one (21) years of age.
  • Valid unrestricted driver's license.
  • Satisfactory completion of background screening and applicable pre-employment checks; including but not limited to employment and/or personal reference and driving records.
  • Must pass both federal and state background checks which screen for crimes including, but not limited to drug related crimes, violent crimes, sexual abuse, domestic violence, child abuse, and repeated misdemeanors.
  • Ability to work with computers and the necessary software typically used by the department.

Schedule

  • Part-Time
  • Shift: 3 pm - 11 pm
  • WEEKENDS ONLY (Friday through Sunday)
