Stubborn bolts you can handle. Early mornings are another story.

You know your way around a vehicle. You also know what time of day you’d rather be working on one.

I’m Jake, the owner and technician with over 17 years of experience. We’re looking for an experienced automotive technician who can get good work done, communicate with the team, and care about the vehicle someone’s trusting us with.

Your shift

If an evening shift suits you, we’re building a crew at HTC Automotive in Boulder and would like to hear what you can bring to it.

3:00 p.m. to 11:30 p.m. This position is specifically for our evening crew.

We’re also recruiting a working foreman to lead that shift and support repair decisions and quality control. We’ll discuss the actual crew and support available at your start date.

The work in your bay

  • Inspect, maintain, diagnose, and repair customer vehicles.
  • Follow approved repair plans and document findings, tests, and completed work.
  • Use service information and specified torque and tightening procedures.
  • Verify repairs and coordinate required quality checks before vehicle release.
  • Keep the team informed about parts needs, unexpected findings, and work that gets held up.
  • Leave clear notes for repairs continuing into another shift.

Write repair notes that make it easy to follow what you found, tested, and completed, even if you’re the one picking it back up. We usually keep the same technician on a job, but customer priorities sometimes mean another set of hands needs to carry it forward.

Our customers include individuals and businesses. The jobs will vary. Bring your strengths in mechanical repair and diagnostics, and tell us where we can help you develop.

A few things we’ll appreciate

  • Reliable attendance and willingness to work the evening schedule.
  • At least four years of hands-on automotive repair experience.
  • Confidence with a solid range of mechanical repairs and diagnostic testing.
  • Comfort with digital repair orders, shop software, and service information.
  • Professional tools and care for customer vehicles, shared equipment, and your work area.
  • Knowing when to keep working through a problem and when another opinion would help.
ASE certifications are welcome, but so is being able to walk us through the diagnostic tests, what the results told you, and how you found the problem.

You’ve put time into learning the trade. Bring that skill, check your work, and give the customer a result you can stand behind.

What kind of crew are we building?

HTC is an independent, owner-operated shop. We want people who communicate, own mistakes, and help each other get good work done.

We take the work seriously. There’s still room for a laugh after a repair puts up a fight. If you’ve ever spent twenty minutes retrieving the socket you dropped in three seconds, you’ll have companions who shared the same misery.

Pay and benefits are listed with this post. Call if you’d like to learn more.

Tired of setting an alarm?

Send your resume or a short introduction. Tell us what you do well, what makes a shop worth staying at, and why the evening schedule suits you.

We’d like to hear about your late night car repair adventures.
