Some people know how to run a lumber yard. They can look at the day’s orders, see what needs attention, keep the crew on track, and make sure customers get the right materials. If that sounds like you, we’d like to talk.
Wood Shed Lumber & Hardware Supply is hiring a Yard & Warehouse Foreman. We’re looking for someone who wants to take ownership of the yard, earn the trust of their team, and build a long-term career with a locally owned business. This is a hands-on leadership role. You’ll work with the crew, organize the day’s work, and make decisions that keep orders, deliveries, and receiving moving. We’ll count on you to notice problems, speak up, and help fix them.
In this role, you’ll:
- Set priorities for the yard and warehouse team each day
- Oversee receiving, material storage, order pulling, and loading
- Make sure orders are accurate and ready when customers need them
- Train team members and set clear expectations for safe, dependable work
- Keep the yard organized and help maintain accurate inventory
- Work with store leadership when equipment, staffing, or customer needs require attention
You may be a good fit if you:
- Have experience in lumber, building materials, warehouse operations, or a similar hands-on setting
- Have led a crew or are ready to take that step
- Stay organized when several things need attention at once
- Follow through, treat people fairly, and take pride in work done right
- Can work outdoors, handle building materials safely, and operate a forklift or learn to do so
We know a good foreman brings more than a list of qualifications. Experience, sound judgment, and the ability to earn people’s respect matter here.

Carrollton, Missouri has had a locally-family owned lumber and hardware store for over 67 years. The tradition continues with the Eiserer family purchasing Warren Lumber Yard in June 2016 and operating the business as WOOD SHED Lumber & Hardware Supply – Do It Best.

We aim to provide the best electrical, plumbing, hardware, fasteners, hand and power tools, automotive, paint and sundries, gift and décor, gas and pellet grills, lumber and building materials. We don’t stop there, we help find solutions to help customers build, maintain, and entertain where they live and to impact and grow the communities we serve.
We offer over 67,000 items through our warehouse that can be shipped to your door, or to our store! Other services provided are UPS shipping and drop off location, key cutting, glass cutting, propane refills and delivery.

The children and the team enjoy the classroom visits by sharing a great story and conversation. It's all hands on deck in the store or in the community. Our little family grew to five just after purchasing the business and couldn't be more excited to learn and grow together. For years Porter, Cecily and Novah assist in the family business by sharing our story on KMZU and KRLI radio, putting up the truck orders, and assisting customers. In 2021 the Eiserer family grew to six with a second son, Marlo.
