Yard Technician

Location: Tabernacle, NJ
Pay Rate: $21 $25/hr DOE
Schedule: Monday Friday, 7:00 AM 3:30 PM (OT as needed)
Work Model: Onsite
Status: Contract-to-Hire

Position Summary

We are seeking a dependable, hands-on Yard Technician to join our team in Tabernacle, NJ. This is a great opportunity for someone with mechanical aptitude, basic maintenance or general labor experience, and a willingness to learn and grow.

This position can be entry-level for the right candidate. Previous experience using hand and power tools is preferred, but training will be provided. We are looking for someone who is reliable, safety-conscious, hardworking, and comfortable working in a hands-on yard environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform basic maintenance and repairs on modular units and mobile office spaces

• Assist with minor carpentry, including doors, flooring, walls, trim, and other general repairs

• Assist with basic lighting, plumbing fixtures, and other routine maintenance tasks

• Use hand and power tools safely and effectively

• Help with the setup, breakdown, cleaning, and refurbishment of modular units

• Load and unload materials, furniture, equipment, and supplies

• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe yard and work area

• Assist with materials and inventory as needed

• Operate forklifts and other equipment once trained and/or certified

• Follow all company safety procedures and guidelines

• Support additional yard and production tasks as assigned

Qualifications

• Some experience with hand tools, maintenance, construction, general labor, or other hands-on work preferred

• Mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn

• Comfortable using or learning to use hand and power tools

• Strong commitment to workplace safety

• Reliable attendance and positive work ethic

• Ability to follow instructions and work well as part of a team

• Good problem-solving skills and attention to detail

• Willingness to learn new skills and receive hands-on training

Preferred Experience

The following experience is helpful but not required:

• Basic carpentry or construction

• General maintenance or repair

• Basic electrical or plumbing

• Modular buildings or mobile offices

• Forklift operation

• HVAC or mechanical work

• Trailer or equipment operation

Physical Requirements

• Ability to lift 50+ lbs regularly

• Comfortable working indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions

• Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, climb, and lift throughout the shift

• Comfortable working around tools, equipment, noise, and dust in a yard/construction environment
