Position Summary

The Yard Technician is responsible for repairing and maintaining modular units according to company procedures, safety requirements, and specifications established by the Operations Manager. This position also supports yard organization, inventory management, furniture handling, and general facility operations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Construct, repair, maintain, and refurbish mobile offices and modular units.

  • Perform moderate carpentry repairs and general construction work.

  • Remove, replace, and assist with lighting, plumbing, and basic electrical components.

  • Maintain an organized, clean, and safe yard and work area.

  • Track, organize, and manage mobile-office materials and supplies.

  • Organize, maintain, load, and unload office furniture and specialty products.

  • Operate a forklift and assist with utility trailers as needed.

  • Use hand, power, and air-impact tools safely and effectively.

  • Communicate professionally with customers when working at job sites.

  • Follow all safety procedures and wear required personal protective equipment.

  • Complete additional duties as assigned by management.

Qualifications

  • Entry-level to intermediate construction experience required.

  • Moderate carpentry and basic electrical experience.

  • Previous forklift experience required.

  • Experience operating or working with utility trailers.

  • HVAC experience is preferred but not required.

  • Ability to work independently, take initiative, and manage assigned tasks.

  • Strong problem-solving and organizational skills.

  • Dependable, safety-conscious, and comfortable working in a hands-on environment.

  • No formal supervisory responsibilities.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to lift and carry at least 50 pounds.

  • Ability to hold and operate air-impact tools weighing up to 30 pounds.

  • Ability to stand, walk, climb, stoop, squat, bend, twist, kneel, reach, push, pull, grasp, and sit throughout the workday.

  • Sufficient coordination, grip strength, range of motion, and fine-motor skills to operate tools and equipment safely.

  • Ability to work indoors and outdoors in varying weather and climate conditions.

  • Ability to work around heavy machinery, construction equipment, dirt, grease, dust, and elevated noise levels.

  • Ability to wear all required personal protective equipment.
