Yard Maintenance Helper

GFL Environmental is seeking a reliable and hardworking Yard Maintenance Worker to support daily operations by maintaining a clean, safe, and organized yard environment. This position is responsible for general groundskeeping, equipment cleaning, facility upkeep, and assisting operations personnel as needed. The ideal candidate enjoys working outdoors, follows safety procedures, and takes pride in maintaining a professional work environment.

• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the yard, shop, and facility grounds.
• Pick up litter, debris, and other materials throughout the property.
• Perform basic landscaping duties, including mowing, trimming, weed removal, and snow removal when required.
• Wash and clean trucks, containers, equipment, and other company assets.
• Assist with organizing containers, bins, and equipment within the yard.
• Conduct routine inspections of the yard and report safety hazards or maintenance concerns.
• Operate basic hand tools, power tools, and grounds maintenance equipment safely.
• Support mechanics, drivers, and operations staff with general labor tasks as assigned.
• Ensure compliance with all company safety policies and environmental regulations.
• Maintain a professional and positive attitude while working independently and as part of a team.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Previous yard, groundskeeping, maintenance, construction, or labor experience preferred.
• Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions.
• Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull up to 50 pounds regularly.
• Strong work ethic, dependability, and attention to detail.
• Ability to follow instructions and work safely in a fast-paced environment.
• Valid driver's license preferred.

Working Conditions

• Outdoor work environment with exposure to changing weather conditions.
• Frequent standing, walking, bending, lifting, and physical activity.
• May require occasional overtime and weekend work based on operational needs.
