Yard Laborer / Forklift

Express Employment Professionals of Everett is recruiting for a Yard Laborer / Forklift Operator on behalf of a well-established construction supply company in Mukilteo, WA.

Schedule: Monday-Friday, 7:00 AM-4:00 PM

The Yard Laborer is responsible for supporting daily yard and warehouse operations by safely loading and unloading trucks, operating forklifts, organizing inventory, assisting with deliveries, and maintaining a clean and safe work environment. This position works with a variety of construction materials including lumber, metal products, roofing supplies, and scaffolding components. Pay is $23 - $25 per hour, depending on experience.

Key Responsibilities

• Safely operate forklifts and other material handling equipment.
• Load and unload delivery trucks with lumber, construction materials, metal products, and scaffolding components.
• Secure loads using straps, chains, and tie-downs to ensure safe transport.
• Deliver materials to customer job sites using company vehicles.
• Maintain accurate inventory and organize materials throughout the yard and warehouse.
• Assist with receiving, stocking, and staging customer orders.
• Support fabrication and wood shop projects as needed.
• Utilize hand tools and power tools, including saws, grinders, and cutting equipment.
• Inspect materials, equipment, and vehicles for damage or safety concerns.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe yard, warehouse, and shop environment.
• Follow all company safety guidelines and operating procedures.
• Assist supervisors and team members with additional warehouse, yard, and logistics tasks as assigned.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in a yard labor, warehouse, material handling, construction, or lumber yard environment preferred.
• Forklift experience required; forklift certification is a plus.
• Valid driver's license with a safe driving record required.
• Ability to safely operate trucks, forklifts, and material handling equipment.
• Comfortable working both indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions.
• Experience using hand tools and power tools preferred.
• Strong attention to safety and detail.
• Dependable, punctual, and able to work effectively in a team environment.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to frequently lift, carry, push, and pull materials weighing up to 50+ pounds.
• Ability to stand, walk, bend, stoop, twist, and lift throughout the workday.
• Ability to work in a physically demanding environment and outdoors as needed.
