Position Summary
The Puller is responsible for accurately pulling, staging, organizing, and preparing materials for customer orders and deliveries. This position plays an important role in ensuring trucks are loaded efficiently and accurately while maintaining a safe, clean, and organized yard. The Puller is expected to follow company safety procedures, communicate effectively with team members, and maintain a high level of quality and accuracy.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Pull and stage materials accurately according to job packages, customer orders, and delivery requirements.
- Prepare materials for loading and ensure orders are complete before shipment.
- Assist with loading trucks safely and efficiently.
- Properly identify and organize staged materials.
- Verify materials to help prevent incorrect or missing items from being shipped.
- Immediately report damaged, incorrect, or missing materials to management.
- Follow all company safety policies and procedures while handling and moving materials.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized yard and work area.
- Assist with organizing inventory and materials throughout the yard.
- Communicate clearly with drivers, loaders, sales personnel, management, and other team members regarding orders and materials.
- Take appropriate steps to prevent loading and shipping errors.
- Handle company materials and equipment responsibly.
- Perform additional duties as assigned by management.
Key Performance Expectations
- Orders are pulled and staged accurately and on time.
- Damaged materials are identified and reported immediately so corrections can be made before shipment.
- Staged materials are clearly and properly identified.
- Safety procedures are consistently followed.
- Loading and order preparation errors are kept to a minimum.
- Major errors or discrepancies are communicated to management immediately.
- Communication with coworkers and management is professional, positive, and thorough.
- The yard and staging areas are maintained in a clean and organized condition.

- Ability to accurately follow job packages, work orders, and instructions.
- Ability to work safely in a yard and warehouse environment.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Good organizational and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Dependable and able to complete assigned responsibilities in a timely manner.
- Previous warehouse, lumber yard, building materials, or material-handling experience is preferred but not required.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
- Ability to bend, reach, push, pull, and perform repetitive physical tasks.
- Ability to safely lift and move materials as required by the position.
- Ability to work outdoors and in varying weather conditions.
- Ability to safely operate applicable material-handling equipment when trained and authorized.
Work Schedule
Monday through Friday 7:00 am to 5:00 pm
