Yard Instructor

Job Description:

PRIMARY FUNCTION:The primary function of a Yard Instructor is to assist in instruction, evaluation, and preparations of new trainees for the over-the-road truck driver positions.DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:• Conduct instruction and hands-on training related to all aspects of commercial over-the-road truck driving that trainees are required to master before being released into their own tractor-trailer unit• Constructively evaluate trainees and give feedback• Maintain and uphold the TMC Transportation valuesMINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS/EXPERIENCE:• Ability to communicate and interact with trainees in a learning environment.• Must hold and maintain a valid Class “A” Commercial Drivers License (CDL).• Excellent driving record.• Prior driving experience.• Experience backing and operating a tractor-trailer unit in town and confined spaces.
