Yard Customer Service Responsibilities

• Present a friendly and accommodating atmosphere, helping our customers determine their needs and facilitate their request efficiently and accurately.
  
• Present a professional appearance.
  
• All yard personnel must be well versed in and follow all safety procedures.
  
• Must have an understanding of the products we carry, their location, and how they are sold. (i.e. each, piece, lineal foot)
  
• Assist customers with their orders from stock and place them in customers' vehicles.
  
• Must be comfortable operating forklift as needed for business operations.
  
• Make up loads for delivery as instructed by supervisor.
  
• Assists fellow employees, cleans yard, including snow shoveling/sanding, reports low stock, helps drivers, and unloads vendor trucks, reporting any safety issues to a supervisor.
  
• Putting inventory in racks and “A” frames, keeping them well organized.
  
• Covers guard shack which involves checking incoming and outgoing traffic.
  
• All other duties as assigned, including working at other locations as needed.
  

Qualifications

• Knowledge of lumber products and how they are sold.
  
• Proven ability to meet established deadlines.
  
• Excellent organizational skills.
  
• Strong attention to detail.
