    Special care nursery & NICU experience requiredP O S I T I O N S U M M A R Y : The Registered Nurse provides and coordinates patient care through assessment, evaluation and treatment with a primary goal of achieving wellness and recovery. E S S E N T I A L F U N C T I O N S: Assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of all aspects of care forpatients within scope of practice. Provides education to patients according to their needs. Transcribes, utilizes and implements protocols and physician orders. Coordinates healthcare team and delegates appropriate tasks to ancillary personnel. Other duties as assignedE D U C A T I O N: Graduation of an accredited school of nursing required. E X P E R I E N C E: Previous experience in a hospital preferred. C R E D E N T I A L S: Must have a current, valid RN license from the State of Wyoming and must be in goodstanding with the Board of Nursing. Must have current, valid Basic Life Support (BLS) certification and maintain credentials throughout employment with IMH. Must have current, valid Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification and maintain credential throughout employmentwith IMH if performing circulating or recovery room for C-section, as determined by theDepartment Director. Must have a current, valid Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification and must maintain credential throughout employmentwith IMH if caring for Pediatrics. Must have current, valid Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification. NRP certification must be maintained throughoutemployment on the Family Care Unit. Nurses who work in Labor and Deliver must complete the Intermediate Electronic Fetalmonitoring class within the first year after completion of orientation. Labor nurses must also complete the Advanced Electronic Fetal Monitoring Class within three (3) years ofcompletion of labor orientation.K N O W L E D G E , S K I L L S A N D A B I L I T I E S: Excellent customer service skills, including but not limited to: a friendly personality,tact, patience, empathy and a helpful, professional attitude both in person and on thetelephone. Ability to effectively communicate with staff, managers and the general public verballyand in writing. Demonstrate effective listening skills. Ability to work effectively without immediate supervision. Ability to learn new computer software programs. Ability to recognize and protect confidential information.
