WRF Operator Mechanic

EXPECTED HIRING RANGE: $56,580.78 - 69,306.64

WORK LOCATION: 300 Pristine Waters Drive, Apex, NC 27502

SCHEDULE: Monday - Friday, 7am - 3:30pm

HOW YOU'LL MAKE AN IMPACT:

Performs intermediate work completing a variety of operational and maintenance duties as well as a variety of chemical, biological and microbiological tests in the laboratory designed to produce safe treatment and disposal of domestic and commercial waste materials; monitor the plant's operation through observation, mechanical readings and the results of standard chemical and biological tests and makes necessary adjustments in the process as conditions or test results dictate; keeps records of work activities and also includes a variety of equipment, grounds, and facility maintenance.

HOW YOU WILL CONTRIBUTE:

  • Makes regular tours of plant and checks bar screens, motors, digesters, generators, pumps,

clarifiers, chlorinators, and other equipment for proper functioning.

  • Records data from various meters gauges and dials; logs daily, weekly, and monthly activities.
  • Performs general preventive and scheduled maintenance work such as greasing bearings,

changing oil, belts and coolants and related visual inspections of equipment; performs minor

maintenance repairs.

  • Regulates and adjusts motors, pumps, blowers, valves and other apparatus to meet changing

operating conditions.

  • Performs routine grounds and building maintenance including mowing, cleaning, and painting.
  • Collects water and wastewater samples for laboratory.
  • Performs a variety of standardized laboratory tests to determine Ph, settleability, ammonia

nitrogen, fecal coli form.

  • Operates Tanker truck to transport Biosolids.
  • Reports to work during emergencies and inclement weather to ensure proper plant operation.

WHAT SETS YOU UP FOR SUCCESS:

Position requires a High School Diploma or GED and minimal (less than one year) of experience.

WHAT SETS YOU APART:

  • Possession of a Wastewater Operator''s Grade I level certificate from the State of North Carolina within 6 months of hire.
