About the Role
We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Wound Care Nurse to join our team in the Edgewater neighborhood of Chicago. The ideal candidate will be an RN or LPN with strong clinical judgment, excellent assessment skills, and a passion for delivering high-quality wound care. Wound care certification is a strong plus.
Key Responsibilities
Provide comprehensive wound assessments and develop individualized treatment plans.
Perform wound care interventions including dressing changes, debridement (as allowed by licensure), and monitoring healing progress.
Collaborate with the clinical team to ensure continuity and quality of care.
Document all assessments, interventions, and patient responses accurately and timely.
Serve as a resource for staff on wound care best practices and protocols.
Participate in infection prevention initiatives, audits, and staff education.
Communicate effectively with patients, families, and interdisciplinary team members.
Support quality improvement efforts and regulatory compliance.
Qualifications
Active RN or LPN license in the state of Illinois.
Wound care certification (WCC, CWCN, or equivalent) strongly preferred.
Previous wound care experience in post-acute, long-term care, or clinical settings desired.
Strong attention to detail, problem-solving skills, and clinical competency.
Ability to work independently while contributing to a collaborative team environment.
Schedule & Compensation
Full-time schedule; competitive pay based on experience.
