World Language Teacher (.7 FTE)
Peter Noyes Elementary Schools is seeking a qualified Spanish Teacher to work with grades 1-5 in developing competencies, knowledge and skills comprehending, speaking, reading and writing in Spanish.
Key Duties & Responsibilities:
- Teach skills and knowledge in the instruction of Spanish to elementary school students through appropriate learning activities;
- Develop lesson plans including supplementary materials and participate in curriculum and other developmental programs;
- Provide individualized and small group instruction in order to adapt the curriculum to the needs of each student;
- Develop student understanding and appreciation of culture of countries where Spanish is spoken;
- Establish and maintain standards of student behavior needs to provide an orderly, productive classroom environment;
- Communicate with parents and school counselors on students' progress;
- Collaborate alongside classroom teachers to connect student learning through Spanish, where appropriate;
- Fosters student interest in and understanding of the Spanish language;
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Principal or designee.
Classification: SEA Unit Position
Schedule: Work 183 days/year - prorated .7 FTE
Salary: Commensurate with education and experience based on the terms of the collective bargaining agreement.
