Workstation Server Administrator

SYSTEMTEC is seeking a Workstation Server Administrator for a hybrid opportunity for candidates in Columbia, SC.Candidate will support and improve an enterprise workstation and server environment, with a focus on endpoint management, software deployment, automation, troubleshooting, and infrastructure standards. The role requires a hands-on technical professional who can collaborate across teams while delivering reliable, secure, and well-documented solutions.

Required Qualifications of the Workstation Server Administrator:

• Applicants must be authorized to work for any employer in the U.S. We are unable to provide sponsorship or work with Third-Party agencies.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field; or equivalent combination of education and relevant professional experience.
• At least 2 years of experience supporting workstations, servers, and/or applications, including hardware and software troubleshooting.
• Contract C2 eligibility is required.
• Strong experience with Windows workstation operating systems, Active Directory, and Group Policy.
• Experience with PowerShell and/or Python scripting.
• Strong PC hardware troubleshooting and endpoint support skills.
• Knowledge of Microsoft Intune, MDM, and Entra ID.
• Experience with BigFix and/or SCCM/ECM for software deployment and endpoint management.
• Strong communication, customer service, organizational, troubleshooting, and technical documentation skills.

Preferred Skills/Experience of the Workstation Server Administrator:

• A+ certification.
• Experience with Citrix/XenDesktop, VDI, VPN, or virtualization technologies.
• Experience with Power BI, Power Automate, Python, or other automation and analytics tools.
• Familiarity with endpoint automation, Windows 11 modernization, or cloud-based endpoint provisioning.

Responsibilities of the Workstation Server Administrator:

• Deploy, configure, maintain, and troubleshoot workstation and server software, including operating systems, applications, patches, upgrades, and standardized builds.
• Administer endpoint management and software-distribution platforms, monitor device compliance, and resolve configuration or deployment issues.
• Develop, test, troubleshoot, and maintain scripts, utilities, integrations, and automation solutions to improve endpoint-management processes.
• Monitor workstation and server performance, proactively identify technical issues, and provide advanced support for complex endpoint problems.
• Conduct hardware and software audits, maintain inventories and licensing information, and ensure systems adhere to established standards and configuration requirements.
• Create and maintain technical documentation, configuration standards, test plans, procedures, and knowledge resources while collaborating on enterprise technology initiatives.

Work Location: Hybrid — onsite Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday, with additional onsite work as needed. Columbia, SC.
