Job Description

The Lead Consultant typically provides expertise across all major functions in their area(s) of the business and delivers product features utilizing in-house and vended software, particularly web services and applications, by applying knowledge of the application functionality and client business processes. The person in the role creates technical and process designs and configures vendor and in-house software for new or existing complex enterprise-wide and business-unit applications and maintenance efforts. The Lead Consultant is also aware of roadmaps and understands how to navigate support processes and developer groups to gain insight and influence future direction.

We are seeking a skilled and motivated Workforce Identity Lead Consultant to join our team. This role is ideal for professionals with developer experience who want to be at the forefront of designing and rolling out new automated access provisioning methods and tools. The candidate will be expected to work closely both with internal team members and other Identity teams to help provide a seamless experience for our customers. You will play a key role in designing, implementing, and supporting IAM solutions that align with Allstate's security policies and business objectives.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop overall product planning by contributing to stories for complex features in areas of responsibility, including guiding the story development for other team members who may be learning.
  • Organize, lead and finalize feature review sessions for complex business issues/requirements and document resulting decisions; provide coaching to less experienced team members on their features and delivery.
  • Create the functional design, using technical skills, to address complex business processes or issues or to address the requirements of a set of product features.
  • Configure or develop within vendor and in-house software; review and verify operation of new vendor or in-house release features. Use vendor and in-house defect resolution procedures and support tools to resolve issues.
  • Use knowledge of integrated requirements to evaluate proposed software products in line with strategic corporate and vendor direction.
  • Support the planning, conduct, and review of module and integration testing for all but the most complex projects.
  • Manage the issues and blockers for assigned features and stories.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve access related issues including reported problems to our applications, ensuring minimal disruption to business operations.
  • In partnership with the business groups and technical teams, provide knowledge and support for resolving technology issues in multiple areas of the business; acknowledged as a subject matter expert in multiple processes and applications.
  • Collaborate with various Product and Service teams to gather requirements and provide Identity solutions that meet performance, availability, capacity and resiliency targets for moderately complex systems.
  • Participate in the development and maintenance of Workforce Identity Roadmaps, bringing together business direction and infrastructure direction. Participate in review sessions with leadership.
  • Participate in audits and compliance activities by providing documentation and evidence of controls.
  • Provide visibility into current state performance and capacity through dashboards, reporting and review sessions with leadership.
  • Initiate tracks of work (ranked in priority) and ensure agreed timelines are met.
  • Provide projections of future capacity demand and identify potential recommendations for meeting projected demands, based on business and technology directions.
  • Participate in a rolling on-call rotation within the team.

Experience:

  • 5 or more years of developer experience (preferred).
  • Practical experience designing or operating security controls embedded into CI/CD pipelines, developer workflows, or shared platform services.
  • Java experience (preferred).
  • Python experience (desirable).
  • Experience of formulating and executing AD PowerShell Scripts.
  • Effective communication skills, with the ability to convey technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to assess complex situations and provide actionable solutions.

Compensation

Compensation offered for this role is 98,100.00 - 167,850.00 annually and is based on experience and qualifications.
