The District Director for Workforce and Economic Development provides strategic leadership for a district-wide portfolio of workforce programs, industry partnerships, and community engagement initiatives designed to strengthen the regional talent pipeline and support economic growth. This position translates executive direction and District priorities into workforce strategies, operational plans, and service delivery models that connect education and training opportunities with high-demand careers and evolving labor market needs.
The District Director leads the planning, implementation, and evaluation of workforce and economic development initiatives; oversees program resources, budgets, grants, and compliance requirements; and uses labor market data and industry trends to inform strategy and program development. The position works collaboratively across colleges and District departments and builds strong partnerships with employers, industry associations, community organizations, public agencies, and other regional stakeholders to advance shared workforce and economic development goals.
The District Director also provides leadership and guidance to assigned professional, technical, and administrative staff, supporting accountability, collaboration, and effective program delivery. Success in this role is demonstrated through measurable outcomes such as program performance, employer engagement, student career outcomes, and contributions to regional workforce and economic development priorities.
