Position Summary:
As a Workforce Development Specialist with the Building Value Construction Training program, you will help participants turn training into opportunity by building their confidence, strengthening their work readiness skills, and connecting them with employers who can support their next step. In this role, you will work closely with participants, community partners, and hiring employers to create meaningful job placement pathways, provide coaching and encouragement throughout the employment process, and support long-term success after placement. This is an opportunity to make a direct impact by helping individuals overcome barriers, gain stability, and build a stronger future through the power of work.
Job Responsibilities:
- Partner with each participant to create an individualized job placement plan that reflects their goals, strengths, experiences, and next steps toward meaningful employment.
- Coach participants through the job search process by helping them build resumes, strengthen interview skills, develop workplace readiness, understand local labor market opportunities, and connect with employers who are ready to hire.
- Support participants during key employment milestones, including visiting potential job sites, communicating with hiring managers, scheduling interviews, and providing encouragement throughout the placement process.
- Provide follow-up support for six months after placement to help participants maintain employment, navigate challenges, and continue building stability and confidence in the workplace.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with local employers to expand access to job opportunities and create inclusive pathways for participants entering the workforce.
- Collaborate with community partners and service providers to connect participants with resources that support their employment goals and overall well-being.
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation, including intake forms, activity logs, mileage and expense reports, job placements, follow-up contacts, and other required records.
- Protect participant confidentiality and handle sensitive information with professionalism, care, and respect.
- Participate in required meetings and contribute to a team culture focused on inclusion, accountability, collaboration, and impact.
- Demonstrate reliability, flexibility, and a willingness to adjust schedules when needed to meet participant, employer, program, and agency needs.
- Perform other related duties that support the mission of Easterseals Redwood and the success of the individuals we serve.

Education/Qualifications: - An appropriate combination of education, training, course work, and experience may qualify an applicant to demonstrate required knowledge, skills, and abilities.
- Bachelor’s degree in human services or related field preferred.
- Ability to document identity and employment eligibility within three (3) days of original appointment as a condition of employment in compliance with Immigration Reform and Control Act requirements.
