    University of Hawai'i, Kapi'olani Community College, Office of Academic Affairs is seeking applications for the Workforce Development Program Support Specialist position.     Duties and Responsibilities:

    • Provides student-centered navigation support appropriate for an open-door community college, assisting diverse students with program participation, applications, eligibility tracking, and referrals to campus resources.

    • Designs, develops, and administers data collection systems, including surveys, focus groups, and evaluation tools to measure student learning, engagement, and programmatic impact.

    • Manages program, participant, and tracking databases, ensuring accurate record-keeping regarding participation, demographics, and outcomes in strict compliance with FERPA and data governance standards.

    • Analyzes qualitative and quantitative data from programmatic tracking systems to produce reports, dashboards, visualizations, and summaries for institutional assessment and continuous improvement.

    • Supports grant and program compliance by tracking deliverables, monitoring funding/reporting timelines, and collecting data required for sponsor updates.

    • Maintains comprehensive operational records, data documentation, assessment results, and compliance libraries to support institutional reporting, audits, and program reviews.

    • Works beyond normal business hours, including evenings, weekends, and/or holidays, as needed.

    • Performs other duties as assigned.

    Minimum Qualifications:

    • Possession of a baccalaureate degree in Social Sciences, Data Science, Education, Public Administration, Business Administration, or a related field, and one (1) year of progressively responsible professional experience with responsibilities for student support, tracking data systems, program assessment, evaluation, or tracking compliance; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

    • Considerable working knowledge of principles, practices, and techniques of data management, tracking metrics, educational assessment tools, or holistic student support systems.

    • Considerable working knowledge and understanding of applicable federal and state regulations associated with data privacy, research ethics, and student privacy (e.g., FERPA).

    • Demonstrated ability to manage databases, input and extract operational metrics, and execute quantitative or qualitative data summaries.

    • Demonstrated ability to build positive, professional, and collaborative working relationships with students, faculty, and staff.

    • Demonstrated ability to resolve complex technical or systemic problems using logical reasoning and data-informed tools.

    • Ability to work outside normally scheduled work hours including nights and weekends as required.

    Desirable Qualifications:

    • Professional experience with educational assessment frameworks, database management, and tracking external/grant outcomes in a higher education ecosystem.

    • Demonstrated experience handling complex data environments, compliance checklists, or student-facing navigation tracking within community colleges.

    • Evidence of commitment to Kapiolani Community Colleges vision of positioning itself as a model Indigenous-serving institution.
