Job Summary:

Are you a driven, organized professional who thrives on keeping complex programs running smoothly while also bringing fresh ideas to life? Associated Builders and Contractors NH/VT Chapter (ABC) is seeking a passionate Workforce Development Director to lead our registered apprenticeship programs and innovative I Build NH/VT workforce development efforts. In this role, youll combine meticulous task management with creative strategy to expand career pathways, build strong employer partnerships, and inspire the next generation of skilled craft professionals-directly addressing the construction industrys workforce needs.

Youll report to the President-CEO and play a pivotal role in advancing ABCs vision: creating accessible, high-quality training opportunities that help employers build stronger teams and help individuals launch rewarding, long-term careers in construction.

• Drive Apprenticeship Program Excellence (Task-Oriented Core)
• Maintain and process all forms, documentation, and records in the Registered Apprenticeship Partners Information Database System (RAPIDS), including timely uploads of Appendix A and B forms.>
• Support employer participants with compliance requirements, respond promptly to questions, and verify apprentices receive scheduled pay increases per their agreements.
• Track on-the-job training hours, ensure regular documentation, and manage inventory of tools, equipment, and PPE used in programs.>
• Coordinate with related instruction providers to schedule classes and maintain strong relationships.
• Recruit and maintain a roster of qualified instructors and industry presenters.
• Respond to Department of Labor inquiries and ensure full program compliance.
• Recruit new employers into ABCs registered apprenticeship programs and develop new pre-apprenticeship and apprenticeship pathways.
• Proactively communicate with employers, apprentices, and instructors to ensure program success and continuous improvement.
• Cultivate and expand relationships with external stakeholders (schools, workforce boards, community organizations) to enhance ABC apprenticeship and I Build initiatives.
• Serve as the creative force behind the I Build workforce development committee: plan and facilitate engaging stakeholder meetings, coordinate events, and deliver tangible value to program sponsors.
• Represent ABC at career fairs, high school outreach events, and industry gatherings to promote construction careers and recruit diverse talent into training programs.
• Bring fresh ideas to make curriculum relatable, exciting, and relevant-helping students and apprentices see real career opportunities in construction.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the President-CEO to support overall workforce development goals.

Required Qualifications

• Proven leadership in workforce development, apprenticeship, training, or related programs (ideally with a focus on compliance and participant success).
• Strong task orientation with exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail for managing documentation, tracking, and compliance.
• Creativity and strategic thinking to innovate in committee management, stakeholder engagement, program design, and outreach.
• Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills to build relationships and explain complex concepts clearly.
• Experience in recruitment/outreach (e.g., CTE programs, high schools, career fairs) and a passion for guiding students into construction careers.
• Comfort staying current with industry trends, safety regulations, and best practices.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Background in construction training or curriculum development.
• 4+ years of experience in training/education, HR, construction, or workforce development.
• Bachelor's degree in education, Human Resources, Construction Management, or a related field.
• Hands-on field experience in construction, with familiarity in hand/power tools, equipment, and PPE.
• Certifications such as OSHA 10, First Aid, and CPR.
