The City of Pasadena, City Managers Office (Career Services Division) is currently seeking an experienced workforce development professional who will be responsible for delivering, organizing, directing, and reviewing the implementation of and related functions as required for the federal Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA) programs for a multiple city consortium. The cities included in the consortium include Pasadena, Sierra Madre, Arcadia, South Pasadena, and Duarte.
The Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA) provides workforce development programs and activities that increase occupational skill attainment, employment opportunities, employment retention, and potential earnings for program customers.
IDEAL CANDIDATE
This position coordinates service delivery for the City Managers Office - Career Services Division, also known as the Foothill Workforce Development Board. The ideal candidate will have extensive working knowledge of the Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA), and possess extensive knowledge and experience in operations management, evaluation of employment training programs and workforce development, partner programs, and the Americas Job Center of California System.
This position is an ongoing limited-term grant-funded position with continued employment dependent on available funding.

VACANCY INFORMATION
There is currently one limited term, grant funded vacancy in the Career Services Division of the City Managers Office.
The resulting eligibility list from this recruitment may be used to fill this vacancy and similar vacancies in the future.
Candidates selected for this position are subject to a one year probationary work period.
Special Requirements
Possession of or ability to obtain a Class C California drivers license and satisfactory driving record.
Retirement:
The City of Pasadena contracts with the California Public Employees' Retirement System (CalPERS) to offer a defined benefits program for eligible employees.
"New" CalPERS members are subject to the provisions of the Public Employees' Pension Reform Act of 2013 (PEPRA) and receive the following benefit formula: 2% at 62
"Classic" members of CalPERS receive the following benefit formula: 2.5% at 55
