Workers Compensation Paralegal

Worker's Compensation law firm is seeking a highly motivated, professional, reliable, loyal, and fully bilingual (English/Spanish) Workers' Compensation Paralegal with a minimum of two (2) years of experience at a busy New York workers' compensation law firm. This is a full-time, in office position.

Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be responsible for managing an active caseload while providing exceptional client service. Duties include:

• Maintaining frequent communication with clients regarding the status of their cases.
• Conducting periodic file reviews to ensure all matters are progressing efficiently.
• Following up on carrier payments and outstanding benefits.
• Evaluating case status and identifying necessary next steps.
• Coordinating medical treatment with physicians' offices and monitoring the status of medical requests.
• Scheduling and coordinating client medical care.
• Preparing and filing fee applications.
• Communicating with insurance carriers and claims adjusters.
• Drafting correspondence to clients, carriers, medical providers, and the Workers' Compensation Board.
• Explaining legal procedures and case developments to clients in a clear and professional manner.
• Working closely with an assigned legal assistant to ensure cases are handled efficiently and deadlines are met.

This position involves a high volume of client interaction. The ideal candidate must genuinely enjoy speaking with clients and providing outstanding customer service. Success in this role requires excellent telephone skills, the ability to prioritize competing tasks, and the flexibility to adapt to changing priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate will possess:

• Minimum of two (2) years of New York Workers' Compensation paralegal experience in a busy law firm.
• Full fluency in English and Spanish (spoken and written).
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Exceptional customer service and professional telephone etiquette.
• Strong organizational and time management skills.
• The ability to work independently while maintaining accuracy under pressure.
• Excellent multitasking abilities and attention to detail.
• Experience maintaining and organizing large volumes of case files.
• Professionalism in all interactions with clients, attorneys, medical providers, carriers, and coworkers.
• Dependability, punctuality, and a strong work ethic.
• The ability to work effectively with attorneys, executives, and support staff in a team-oriented environment.
