Job Description:
Our client, a well-established and respected Florida law firm, is seeking an experienced Workers' Compensation Associate Attorney to join its Port St. Lucie office.
The ideal candidate will have a minimum of five years of Florida workers' compensation experience, strong litigation and negotiation skills, and the ability to independently manage a caseload from inception through resolution.

Key Responsibilities
- Independently manage a caseload of Florida workers' compensation matters from inception through resolution
- Evaluate claims, medical records, wage information, benefits, and other case-related documentation
- Develop case strategies and provide knowledgeable legal counsel throughout the claims and litigation process
- Draft and file petitions, motions, discovery, responses, and other legal documents
- Conduct and defend depositions of parties, witnesses, medical providers, and experts
- Attend mediations, hearings, conferences, and other workers' compensation proceedings
- Negotiate with opposing counsel and insurance carriers to achieve favorable resolutions
- Prepare matters for final hearings and litigation when necessary
- Maintain consistent communication with clients regarding case developments, strategy, and expectations
- Ensure deadlines, filings, and procedural requirements are handled accurately and efficiently
- Collaborate with attorneys, paralegals, legal assistants, and other members of the legal team
- Stay current on developments in Florida workers' compensation statutes, regulations, and case law
Qualifications
- Juris Doctor from an accredited law school
- Active and in good standing with The Florida Bar
- Minimum of 5 years of Florida workers' compensation experience
- Strong knowledge of Florida workers' compensation law and procedure
- Demonstrated ability to independently manage workers' compensation matters
- Significant experience with depositions, mediations, hearings, negotiations, and case resolution
- Strong litigation and negotiation skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong organizational and time-management abilities
- Ability to effectively manage a substantial caseload and competing deadlines
- Sound legal judgment and strong attention to detail
- Professional, client-focused approach with a commitment to providing high-quality legal representation
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team environment
