Job Description:

Our client is seeking a Workday HCM Functional Analyst to support a high-priority Workday deployment across multiple operators, with go-lives targeted for January 1 and April of next year. This is a post-go-live, day-two support role focused on building out an internal Workday support function, standardizing configurations across operators, and serving as a governance and checks-and-balances resource alongside active SI partners. The ideal candidate is practical, hands-on, and comfortable both executing configuration work and educating internal teams on Workday best practices. US citizens and green card holders only; H-1B candidates will not be considered.

Required Skills & Experience

  • 5+ years of functional Workday HCM experience, with strong emphasis on post-go-live production support environments.
  • Deep expertise in Core HCM, business process configuration, security, organizations, and supervisory structures.
  • Ability to review, challenge, and improve SI partner configurations to avoid unnecessary customization and ensure long-term maintainability.
  • Experience standardizing Workday configurations across multiple business units or operating organizations.
  • Strong operational reporting support capabilities.
  • Ability to guide business stakeholders and operators through business process issues and configuration decisions.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to educate non-technical internal teams on Workday functionality and best practices.

Preferred / Desired Experience

  • Workday HCM certification strongly preferred.
  • Broad functional knowledge across Core HR and Benefits; payroll familiarity is a plus but not the primary focus.
  • Experience working alongside implementation partners and transitioning ownership to internal support teams.
  • Background creating governance standards, functional documentation, and standardized configuration frameworks.
  • Familiarity with Workday release management, testing strategy, and tenant configuration best practices.
  • Previous experience in fast-moving, high-growth enterprise environments with time-sensitive deployment schedules.
