looking for 10-15 years finance experience, 5 years in Workday finance. Manager or high-level SC equivalent. The location is remote.

Role Overview: The Labor Capitalization role is responsible for supporting the accurate classification, tracking, analysis, and reporting of labor costs between capital expenditures and operating expenses. This position partners closely with Finance, Accounting, Project Management, Technology, and business stakeholders to ensure labor costs are properly documented, aligned to approved projects, and compliant with internal capitalization policies and applicable accounting guidance.
Key Responsibilities
• Review labor activity, project time entries, and supporting documentation to determine appropriate capitalization treatment.
• Partner with project owners and business leaders to validate that labor costs are aligned to approved capital projects, phases, and deliverables.
• Support monthly, quarterly, and annual close activities related to capitalized labor accruals, adjustments, reconciliations, and reporting.
• Maintain and improve labor capitalization processes, controls, templates, and documentation standards.
• Ensure compliance with company capitalization policies, financial controls, audit requirements, and applicable accounting standards.
• Prepare clear reporting and insights for Finance, Accounting, Project Management, and leadership stakeholders.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to improve time tracking accuracy, project coding, and labor cost transparency.
• Support internal and external audit requests by providing documentation, explanations, and reconciliations related to capitalized labor.
Required Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
• Experience with financial analysis, project accounting, cost accounting, capitalization, or expense classification.
• Strong understanding of capital expenditure and operating expense concepts.
• Ability to interpret policies, review supporting documentation, and apply sound judgment to cost classification decisions.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and financial reporting tools.
• Strong attention to detail, analytical thinking, and problem-solving skills.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills with the ability to work across Finance, Accounting, and business teams.
Preferred Qualifications
• Experience with ERP, project accounting, time tracking, or financial planning systems.
• Knowledge of capitalization treatment for internally developed software, technology programs, construction projects, or other long-term assets.
• Experience supporting audit requests, financial controls, or process improvement initiatives.
• Familiarity with project lifecycle stages, milestone tracking, and labor allocation methodologies.
