Job Summary:

Position Title: Workday Business Analyst Consultant
Location: Houston, TX 77002
Work Arrangement: 50% Remote / 50% Onsite
Duration: Open-ended
Work Schedule: Monday to Friday
Pay Rate: $75/hr W2

Responsibilities for this position include, but are not limited to:

  • Learn METRO's current payroll processes.
  • Participate and contribute along with METRO IT resources on Workday implementation project meetings
  • Learn, document and train IT payroll analyst about Workday configurations such as earnings, deductions, tax setups, pay groups, calculated fields, and payroll validations.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, local, and union contract regulations.
  • Participate in payroll integration discussions with internal systems and third-party vendors
  • Support processing of union and non-union payrolls, ensuring union rules, wage scales, dues, assessments, and contract-driven pay rules are accurately configured and maintained.
  • Learn and train IT resources about Workday semi-annual releases by reviewing new functionality, performing regression testing, and implementing configuration updates.
  • Maintain system documentation, configuration logs, SOPs, and technical support materials.
  • Participate, document and train IT payroll analyst for developing Workday reports used by Payroll, HR, and Finance teams.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional partners to optimize payroll processes and support continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Provide support for time tracking and its payroll impact, especially for union rules and complex schedules.

To be considered for this position, you should have:

  • Bachelor's degree in HR, IT, Accounting, Business, or related field (preferred).
  • 3–5+ years of Workday US Payroll experience in a customer-side HRIS or IT Applications environment.
  • Hands-on experience supporting union and non-union payrolls, with familiarity in union contracts, wage progression, dues calculation, and pay rules.
  • Strong knowledge of US payroll regulations and compliance requirements.
  • Experience creating advanced Workday reports and calculated fields.
  • Understanding of payroll-related integrations, time tracking, and benefit-related calculations.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
