We service clients in SLED (state/local gov't & education), financial services, fortune, public utility, as well as regularly partnering with Big 4 SI partners.

Workday Architect with Integration Experience

Location: Irving, TX (Onsite 3 Days per Week Monday, Tuesday, Thursday)
Duration: 6+ Month Contract
Client: Public Utility Client

Position Overview

Our Public Utility Client is seeking an experienced Workday Architect with Integration expertise to support enterprise HR and Finance technology initiatives. This role will be responsible for leading the design, architecture, integration strategy, and optimization of the Workday platform while ensuring seamless connectivity between Workday and enterprise applications.

The ideal candidate will possess deep Workday architecture experience, strong knowledge of Workday integration technologies, and the ability to collaborate with business and technical stakeholders to deliver scalable, secure, and high-performing solutions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Serve as the lead architect for Workday solutions, integrations, and platform optimization initiatives.
  • Define and maintain the overall Workday architecture strategy, roadmap, and best practices.
  • Design scalable solutions across Workday HCM, Payroll, Benefits, Talent, Recruiting, Learning, Financials, and related modules as applicable.
  • Lead architecture and design sessions with business stakeholders and technical teams.
  • Design, develop, review, and optimize Workday integrations with internal and external systems.
  • Evaluate business requirements and translate them into technical architecture and integration designs.
  • Establish integration patterns, governance standards, security frameworks, and data management practices.
  • Collaborate with enterprise architects, application teams, and vendors to ensure successful solution delivery.
  • Support Workday releases, enhancements, upgrades, and ongoing platform improvements.
  • Provide technical leadership during testing, deployment, and production support activities.
  • Perform architecture reviews, impact assessments, and solution recommendations.
  • Develop and maintain technical documentation, integration specifications, and architecture diagrams.
  • Mentor Workday developers, integration consultants, and technical team members.

Required Qualifications

  • 8+ years of Workday experience, including architecture and integration responsibilities.
  • Experience serving as a Workday Architect, Lead Consultant, Solution Architect, or Technical Architect.
  • Strong experience designing and supporting enterprise-scale Workday environments.
  • Hands-on experience with Workday integration technologies, including:
    • Enterprise Interface Builder (EIB)
    • Core Connectors
    • Workday Studio
    • Workday Web Services (SOAP/REST)
    • Workday Cloud Connect
    • Workday Extend (preferred)
  • Experience integrating Workday with:
    • ERP systems
    • Payroll providers
    • Identity and Access Management solutions
    • Financial systems
    • Benefits providers
    • Time and attendance systems
    • Third-party applications
  • Strong understanding of Workday security architecture and data governance.
  • Experience gathering business requirements and developing solution architecture documentation.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and stakeholder management skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with Workday HCM, Payroll, Benefits, Recruiting, Talent Management, Learning, or Financials.
  • Utility, energy, or regulated industry experience.
  • Experience with enterprise integration platforms such as:
    • MuleSoft
    • Boomi
    • Dell Boomi
    • Informatica
    • Azure Integration Services
    • Workato
  • Experience supporting large-scale Workday implementations or transformation programs.
  • Experience with cloud architecture and API management frameworks.
  • Workday certifications highly preferred.

Education

  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Business Information Systems, Human Resources, or related field preferred.



Pay rate: $130-$145hr depending on experience
