    Position Description & Details

    Passionate about technology and eager to gain real-world IT experience? The IT Solutions & Services team is seeking a motivated Information Technology Assistant to help support the colleges technology environment. From deploying computers and software to assisting with data management, documentation, troubleshooting, and campus support, youll gain valuable experience working with a variety of systems and technologies while helping ensure the success of the BSC community. This position is ideal for students who enjoy learning new technologies, solving challenges, and working both independently and as part of a team.

    What Youll Do

    You will support the CIO and IT Solutions & Services staff in short-term and long-term projects, as well as day-to-day execution of general support needs for college stakeholders. This role involves assisting with data management, inventory, deployment of software and hardware (computers, printers, networking devices, etc.), creating documentation, troubleshooting of technology, communicating with the college community, and other duties as assigned. The ideal candidate will have strong skills in spreadsheets, web form development, technical troubleshooting and researching of technical issues, as well as an interest in technology and learning new systems and applications.

    Additional Responsibilities

    • Assist with various technology projects in the short-term and long-term
    • Develop, maintain, document, and teach staff about new systems and applications
    • Deploy software and hardware throughout the college
    • Troubleshoot various technologies for college stakeholders
    • Communicate about various technologies for college stakeholders
    • Other duties as assigned

    Required Qualifications

    • Strong technical understanding and reasoning skills
    • Data analysis skills (Excel, Google Sheets, or similar)
    • Attention to detail and ability to work independently
    • Good communication and organizational skills
    • Interest in technology and learning of new systems and applications
    • Ability to lift at least 25 pounds

    Preferred Qualifications

    • Understanding, development, and implementation of relational databases
    • Understanding of basic technology terminology
    • Interest in technology and learning new technologies
    • Ability to work 10-19 hours per week during the semesters and over summer
