Title Work Study CSE Office Assistant Position Description
GENERAL STATEMENT OF DUTIES
The Front Desk Attendants/Office Assistants will serve as a resource to visitors to the Center for Student Engagement in the Rondileau Student Union (RSU) and are responsible for providing general information(CSE) and customer service to the campus community.
SUPERVISION RECEIVED
Office Assistants are supervised by staff in the Center for Student Engagement.
CORE DUTIES
- Be welcoming, visible and interact professionally with students, faculty, staff and guests of the Center for Student Engagement.
- Serve as a source of general information to students, student organization leaders, and the campus community at the CSE Front Desk.
- Be familiar with the functions of the EngageBSU platform and encourage students to use it for getting involved.
- Completion of daily services including, but not limited to, answering phones, mail/package sorting, data entry, and space access management.
- Manage distribution of event information and equipment as needed.
- Provide information to visitors about student organizations, events, and other resources/services associated with the Center for Student Engagement.
- Maintain a general knowledge of the Student Union's spaces and offices.
- Attend and support CSE-sponsored events and campus resource tabling as needed to promote the mission of CSE, help with event check-in, and promote the use of our digital engagement platforms.
- Act as a flexible member of the CSE team and be prepared to help with multiple customer service roles.
- Attend training and staff meetings as needed.
- Other duties as assigned.
Eligibility requirements:
- Must be a Bridgewater State University undergraduate student registered for a minimum of six credits for the Fall 2026 semester.
- Must have Work Study award in your financial aid package
Preferred Qualifications
The successful candidate will be a mature, responsible, independent thinker, who demonstrates adaptability and good problem-solving skills.
- Positive customer-oriented attitude. Customer service experience is preferred.
- Excellent writing skills with adaptable styles based on content, audience and platform.
- Demonstrated excellent interpersonal skills as well as the ability to work independently on various projects.
- Commitment to the mission of the Center for Student Engagement and Rondileau Student Union.
- Strong organizational skills with ability to prioritize, multi-task and meet deadlines.
- Ability to effectively communicate and interact well with diverse segments of the BSU community.
- Must be in good academic standing with a minimum GPA of 2.0.
