Wood Center Pub Bartender - Student Assistant

The UAF Pub is looking for bartenders and sound techs to join our team. If you want a straightforward campus job with a great atmosphere and a flexible schedule, this is it. You'll get to work right in the middle of campus life and help us host everything from trivia nights to live music.
What you'll do:
Serve drinks and snacks.
Keep the bar clean, organized, and running smoothly.
Be a key part of making campus events, game days, and weekend nights a success.
What we're looking for:
Someone who can handle a fast-paced environment.
A friendly attitude and a knack for making people feel welcome.
A team player who wants to help keep the campus culture alive and fun.
Candidates must be at least 21 years old and willing to work evening and weekend hours. Starting rate of pay is $16.00 per hour.
Pub Attendant:
Knowledge of duties and skills necessary to provide services and daily maintenance of the Pub, and the State laws regarding alcoholic beverages. Ability to communicate with the public and enforce State laws and University policies; give a favorable impression to the public in appearance and behavior; adapt to changes in workload; work with limited supervision and in cooperation with other employees; handle money responsibly; lift or maneuver heavy objects with ease; assist with planning and implementation of programs and activities; handle difficult situations with diplomacy and finesse.
Pub Sound Tech:
Pub Sound Technicians can expect regular training opportunities in sound reinforcement to enhance their skills and abilities in the job. Pub Sound Technicians will also be expected to research and learn independently about best practices in sound reinforcement, as well as the technical operation of sound equipment used in the Pub. Prior work experience with bi-amplified live sound reinforcement systems is preferred. On the job training will be provided.
Minimum Qualifications:
Applicant must be enrolled as a UA student taking a minimum of 6 credits per semester with a minimum GPA of 2.0 or a newly enrolled student.
A current alcohol server's education course certificate (TAPS) and Alaska Food Worker card are required. The cost for certification is approximately $45 and The Pub will help cover the Alaska Food Worker and TAPS card fees for those hired.

This is a Student Assistant 2 Position, minimum starting pay is $16.00 per hour.
