Our client, a growing manufacturer and distributor of electrical and electronic wire and cable for commercial, industrial, and utility markets, is adding a dependable Wire & Cable Processing Machine Operator in Northbrook, IL.

Role Snapshot

Step onto the production floor at 8:00 AM, review your work orders, and set up your station for a safe and productive day. You’ll load wire or cable, thread it through rollers and guides, and run equipment that cuts, measures, spools, and coils product to precise specs. Throughout the day, you’ll verify lengths with measuring tools, check labels and packaging, and keep your area organized. If a machine hiccups, you’ll flag maintenance or your supervisor quickly to keep things moving.

• Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–5:00 PM
• Type: Full-time, Temp-to-Hire

What You’ll Do

• Operate and monitor machines that cut, measure, spool, and coil wire/cable per specifications.
• Load raw materials and properly thread them through guides and rollers.
• Interpret work orders and confirm accuracy using tape measures, calipers, and other gauges.
• Inspect finished product, verify labels, and package spools/coils for shipment.
• Keep the work area clean, organized, and compliant with safety procedures.
• Report quality or mechanical issues promptly to supervisors or maintenance.

About You

• Experience in manufacturing, production, or machine operation preferred.
• Comfortable standing, bending, and lifting up to 50 lbs; able to handle repetitive tasks.
• Familiar with basic hand tools and measuring devices (tape measure, calipers).
• Detail-oriented and able to follow written instructions and work orders.
• Willing to learn and rotate across multiple machines.
• Reliable attendance and a team-first mindset.

Preferred

• Background working with wire/cable or similar materials.
• Confident reading a tape measure.
• Basic mechanical troubleshooting skills.
• Bilingual English/Spanish is a plus.
