Windows Systems Administrator

Upgrade Client s Active Directory domain from Windows Server 2019 (EOL: Jan 9, 2029) to Windows Server 2025 . Apply strong Active Directory skills (Group Policy creation/maintenance, OU and Domain management).

Job Title: Windows Systems Administrator (Domain Administrator)
Job Location: Boston, MA (Hybrid, first couple of weeks will be in-office, after that it will be hybrid)
Job Duration: 2+ Months
Hours: 35 hours per week

Duties

• Upgrade Client s Active Directory domain from Windows Server 2019 (EOL: Jan 9, 2029) to Windows Server 2025
• Use VMWare resources to create 5 new Domain Controllers to replace older servers
• Conduct thorough testing in Dev environment prior to Production upgrade
• Manage Forest upgrade, FSMO role transfer, Kerberos, CA certificate, and Windows DNS
• Apply strong Active Directory skills (Group Policy creation/maintenance, OU and Domain management)
• Collaborate effectively with ITS professionals during project execution

Required Skills & Experience

• Expertise: Microsoft Windows Server 2019, 2022, and 2025
• Active Directory: Group Policy, OU/Domain management, upgrades
• Past Experience: Domain upgrades including Forest, FSMO, Kerberos, CA, DNS
• Minimum Experience: 5+ years managing Active Directory Domain for mid to large organizations
• Tools Knowledge: Ansible and Jenkins (helpful, not mandatory)
• Collaboration: Ability to work well with other ITS professionals
• Scripting: Ability to write custom scripts and create Group Policy Objects (GPOs)

Education:

• Bachelor's degree in a relevant discipline

Preferred Qualifications

• Prior Domain Upgrade project experience
• Strong problem solving and troubleshooting skills in enterprise environments
