    Cloud Engineer
    Position Overview

    The Cloud Engineer is responsible for maintaining and supporting the organization's server infrastructure and cloud environments. This position requires strong hands-on experience with Windows servers, Microsoft cloud technologies, and enterprise infrastructure. The Cloud Engineer will install, maintain, monitor, and troubleshoot server operations while evaluating technology solutions and ensuring compliance with established security procedures.

    Key Responsibilities

    Server Administration

    • Perform Windows Server administration and maintenance.

    • Administer web servers and Active Directory domain controllers.

    • Support DNS, DHCP, print servers, and printer lifecycles.

    • Perform server patching, upgrades, and routine maintenance.

    • Monitor server infrastructure to ensure availability and optimal performance.

    Cloud and Infrastructure Support

    • Support Microsoft 365 and Microsoft Azure environments.

    • Administer and support Microsoft Endpoint Configuration Manager (MECM) and Intune.

    • Maintain and improve workstation imaging and deployment processes.

    • Evaluate infrastructure performance and recommend improvements.

    • Support network operations across Ethernet, TCP/IP, and WAN environments.

    Hardware, Software, and Licensing

    • Implement, configure, and maintain server hardware and software.

    • Administer application licensing for platforms such as AutoCAD, Minitab, SolidWorks, and Meridian.

    • Install and troubleshoot PCs, printers, servers, and other hardware and software.

    • Evaluate new hardware and software solutions based on organizational needs.

    Troubleshooting and Technical Support

    • Participate in a 24/7 on-call rotation for server-related issues and escalated service desk requests.

    • Diagnose and resolve complex infrastructure, hardware, and software problems.

    • Partner with end users, technicians, and management to address technical issues.

    • Work independently to resolve problems with minimal supervision.

    Documentation and Process Improvement

    • Create and maintain documentation for servers, applications, infrastructure, and service desk procedures.

    • Recommend proactive solutions related to system performance, capacity, security, and expansion.

    • Identify opportunities to automate tasks and improve technical processes.

    • Promote innovative and forward-thinking approaches to infrastructure operations.

    Required Qualifications

    • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field preferred.

    • Extensive hands-on technical experience may be considered in place of formal education.

    • Minimum of five years of experience working in a Windows Server environment.

    • Professional experience specializing in server administration, cloud infrastructure, or a related infrastructure discipline.

    • Strong working knowledge of technologies including:

      • Windows 10 and Windows Server

      • Microsoft Office and Microsoft 365

      • Microsoft Azure

      • Active Directory and Group Policy

      • MECM and Intune

      • VMware

      • IIS, DNS, and DHCP

      • TCP/IP, Ethernet, and WAN technologies

      • FTP, email filtering technologies, and enterprise messaging platforms

    • Experience supporting enterprise applications and application licensing.

    • Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving skills.

    • Ability to create and maintain clear technical documentation.

    • Effective communication skills when working with management, end users, and technical teams.

    • Ability to work independently and manage responsibilities with minimal supervision.

    Preferred Qualifications

    • Experience automating infrastructure tasks and operational processes.

    • Experience improving workstation imaging, deployment, or endpoint-management processes.

    • Familiarity with licensing administration for engineering or manufacturing applications.
