A Snapshot of Your DayIn this role you'll be responsible for the service and maintenance of Siemens Gamesa wind turbines at Kawailoa wind farm, on the island of Oahu, in the US. Although this position will have a home wind farm site, it will also be part of a mobile team that supports one other site in Hawaii as needed. Provide excellent service to our customers, analyze and react to people in stressful, and hazardous situations.How You'll Make an ImpactContribute to the improvement of new and updated field procedures and standard methodologies.Ability to work inside the wind turbine enclosure at an elevated height of 300 feet.Ability to think clearly and maintain composure during stressful and or hazardous situations is a critical to success in the position.Physical requirements of the job include but not limited to: Ladder climbing up to 300 feet, up stair climbing, standing for long periods, walking, lifting, bending, twisting, work above shoulders, pushing, pulling, exposure to vibration, chemicals, confined spaces and extreme weather conditions.Capable of efficiently taking on additional roles and responsibilities at an operating wind farm.What You BringHigh school diploma or equivalent is required along with 2 or more years' experience in a relevant field. A College degree or equivalent competency in a field related to the work of a wind farm technician ie: electrical / mechanical systems is desirable. Various combinations of education, training, and experience will be considered.Demonstrated ability to work safely and effectively in a team environment. Must meet body weight restrictions of 265 pounds or less as required by the safety regulations. Must pass a physical test administered by a medical practitioner to ensure ability to safely perform the job functions and meet the physical demands of the position.Strong ability to prioritize and plan daily/weekly work with a high level of quality orientation, ability to analyze and resolve problems independently.Hands on experience working with electrical systems including PLC programming and converters.Experience interacting with customers at various levels of responsibility within their respective organizations.Traveling (up to 50%) to customer sites within and outside the US is a requirement of the job. Must be eligible to hold a valid Passport and Driver's License.Driving is an essential function of the job and applicants must have a valid driver's license at the time of application with a clean driving record. Employees must maintain a valid license and acceptable driving record and may be subject to periodic DMV checks throughout employment with Siemens Gamesa Renewable Energy. This job is based in Haleiwa, Hawaii.  Siemens Gamesa offers a variety of health and wellness benefits including paid time off and holiday pay.  Details regarding our benefits can be found here: https://benefitsatenergy.com/thinking-of-joining.html.  The base salary range for this position in Haleiwa, Hawaii is $57,800.00 - $85,500.00. Employees are also eligible to participate in a Gain Share program. More details about this program can be discussed during the interview process.
