Wildlife Biologist
Job Description
The Wildlife Biologist will lead and perform wildlife surveys, habitat assessments, and environmental permitting tasks while contributing to high-quality technical reports and analyses. This role combines extensive fieldwork with office-based data analysis and report preparation, and requires strong technical, organizational, and communication skills. Work Environment
This position combines substantial fieldwork with office and remote work. Approximately 60% of the time will be spent traveling to project sites, which may require extended trips and overnight stays. Fieldwork involves working outdoors in a variety of habitats and weather conditions, including inclement weather and exposure to the elements, while using equipment such as hand-held GPS units, tablets or iPads for data entry, soil augers, binoculars, and other sampling tools. When not traveling, work can be performed in an office or remote setting, focusing on data analysis, technical writing, mapping in ArcGIS Online, and coordination with project teams. The role operates in a fast-paced, project-driven environment that emphasizes collaboration, high-quality deliverables, and offers fun travel experiences and significant opportunities for professional growth.
