Physician Assistant Kernodle Clinic is a respected and progressive multi-specialty group practice with Clinics in Burlington, Mebane and Elon. We are currently seeking compassionate, patient-focused individuals to join our Walk-In Clinic Department as a Physician Assistant. Previous experience is preferred, but new graduates are welcome to apply. This is a full-time position with a Monday through Friday schedule and occasional weekend shifts on Saturdays from 9:00 AM to 1:00 PM and Sundays from 1:00 PM to 4:00 PM.
All candidates must be graduates of an accredited PA program, and possess a current licensure/certification to perform as an PA and must exercise the highest degree of professional judgment under the direction of a licensed physician. BLS certification required.

Duties Include, but not limited to the following: - When providing direct patient care, including patient related telephone conversations, uses double identifiers to ensure right patient every time.
- Perform diagnostic and therapeutic procedures to assist physician in diagnosing medical and surgical problems and prescribing necessary treatment and services for quality patient care; record the normal and abnormal data for review by the physician.
- Take patient histories, conduct physical examinations, and record the data in the patient's record in EPIC; write progress note; prepare patient workups and summaries noting pertinent positive and negative findings.
- Order and schedule laboratory studies and diagnostic procedures; explain the necessity, preparation, nature and anticipated effects of scheduled diagnostic and therapeutic procedures to the patient
- Carry out therapeutic procedures such as dressing changes; monitor progress of patients, report progress to supervising physician, and maintain record of each patient's progress.
- Participate in teaching medical students and physician assistant students in techniques and procedures which are unique to specific clinical setting.
- Appropriately consults with physicians regarding patient care issues.
- Provides patient health education. Addresses questions or concerns thoroughly. Patiently and clearly explains purpose and nature of treatment/procedure to patient prior to administration, minimizing fear and anxiety.
