POSITION SUMMARY The Wholesale Mortgage Loan Assistant is responsible for the lending activities through the established wholesale network and the assistance of building broker relationships through direct broker contact, trade show and marketing events for the origination of wholesale loan products while maintaining profitability and excellent customer service to its broker clients. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES - Generate high quality residential loans that conform to wholesale and underwriting policy.
- Presents information to the Credit Committee
- Responsible to ensure appropriate lending and credit policies and procedures are followed
- Provides leadership and management to ensure that the mission and core values of the company are put into practice and become a natural behavior
- Develop and/or support and enforce sound policies and procedures of the bank
- Perform administrative duties in regards to various human resource documentation requirements pertaining to staffing, performance reviews, disciplinary action, job descriptions, attendance matters, time off requests, etc.
- Effectively manage the Lending Assistant and ensure that he/she adheres to responsibilities and obligations
- Evaluate and document performance of assigned employees
Leadership & Supervisory Expectations - Ensure that the mission and core values of the company are followed and practiced
- Interact with Customers/Prospects in a proactive manner that ensures an outstanding Customer Experience for each loan transaction
- Interact with the Real Estate Agent community and Attorneys
- Work effectively with all staff of the Residential Mortgage Department and contribute to team work, efficiency and continuous improvement of the area
- Support and enforce sound policies and procedures for the department and the bank
- Assist co-workers reaching departmental goals
- Communicate effectively with others
- Perform other related duties as required to accomplish the objectives of the position
EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE Bachelor's degree (B.A) from qualified college or university; advanced graduate degree preferred; Three to five years of related experience and/or training in all aspects of lending; or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience. OTHER SKILLS/QUALIFICATIONS - Excellent interpersonal relationship skills to effectively interact with customers/prospects and represent the BB Americas in an exemplary
- Excellent verbal and written communications skills in English and Spanish
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail
- Proficient in various computer software and banking applications. Encompass or other loan processing software a plus.
- In depth knowledge of required bank policies, procedures, and compliance requirements
- Ability to ensure confidentiality, security and safekeeping of bank and customer information
- Is consistently at work and on time; Ensures work responsibilities are covered when absent
- Must demonstrate excellent human relations skills with customers and bank associates.
- Must be willing to participate as a team member and eager to tackle new assignments.
