The Deschutes County Sheriff's Office is a full service agency that oversees the adult jail, provides patrol, criminal investigations, civil process and search and rescue operations. Special units include SWAT, Marine Patrol, ATV Patrol, Forest Patrol, along with five K9 teams. Founded in 1916 and today led by your appointed Sheriff Ty E. ABOUT THE JOB:
The Deschutes County Sheriff's Office is accepting applications for a Wellness Coordinator. This position is a non-sworn leadership role that defines and drives the strategic direction of the Sheriff's Office Wellness Program. Serving as the agency's primary wellness strategist, the position develops policy, oversees program operations and budget, and advises executive leadership on mental health and wellbeing initiatives. It is distinguished by its responsibility for shaping how employees access support-particularly after critical incidents-while coordinating evidence-based resources, training, and referrals through licensed providers and community partners.

Compensation
$6,027.10 to $8,076.88 for a 173.33 hour work month. Excellent County benefit package when eligible. This position is available immediately.

The employment offer will be contingent upon presentation of an acceptable and verifiable drivers license, pre-employment screening for criminal history, driving history, and controlled substances (NOTE: Positive test results for marijuana use may result in rescission of a contingent offer of employment). This screening must be completed with satisfactory findings in order for a formal offer of employment to be extended.

This position requires a Bachelor's degree in public health, human services, or a related field AND three years of relevant experience in wellness program development, health education, or counseling; OR any equivalent combination of training, education, and experience that provides the required skills, knowledge and abilities to perform the essential functions of the job. In order to be considered for a position with the Deschutes County Sheriffs Office, candidates must pass a PRE-qualifying driving record review and a criminal history background check.
