Job Summary:
Assists the Resident Care Coordinator by performing certified nursing assistant duties and clerical duties related to Wellness operations according to policy and procedures. Provides administrative support and clinical assistance to ensure efficient delivery of wellness services to residents.
Essential Job Responsibilities:
Maintain appointment book for any services offered by Wellness Clinic and notifies Health Care, Assisted Living and Memory Support of resident appointments. Faxes schedule to doctor's office prior to appointments.
Check exam rooms for supplies and restock. Keep a running list of supplies and reorder in a timely fashion.
Answer telephone calls and report any call requiring follow-up and concerns to Resident Care Coordinator.
Sets up new resident charts, pulls charts required for daily activities and prepares discharge charts.
Documents, services and support provided to residents in electronic health record, as appropriate.
Submit appropriate charges for services rendered in the Wellness Clinic to Business Office.
Checks all monthly calendar and appointment books for the Wellness Clinic to plan daily procedures.
Maintains Independent Living hospital list and distributes notices to designated team members.
Is trained in phlebotomy services and assists Resident Care Coordinator as directed.
Assists Resident Care Coordinator on emergency calls as needed
Qualifications:
Must be a Certified Nursing Assistant in Virginia.
Phlebotomy certification is required or must obtain within 30 days of hire.
Experience in a clinical or wellness setting preferred.
CPR certification required or must obtain within 30 days of hire.
Physical Requirements and working conditions:
Must be able to lift and move residents safely.
Extensive walking, bending, stooping, lifting (up to 50 lbs.), and standing during work shift.
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with multiple tasks.
Experiences constant demands from residents, families, team members and schedules.
Ability to work inside and outside to effectively respond to problems and emergencies.
Universal staffing, holiday, inclement weather, and a flexible work schedule are required.
Exposure to the sights, sounds and odors of a typical long-term care and health care environment serving senior citizens, some with dementia.
