    Job Description

    Description

    SAIC is seeking experienced Welding Technicians to join our growing team at the Bedford Production Facility. Candidates must demonstrate expertise in welding and fabrication and be comfortable working individually or as part of a team.

    Primary Responsibilities:

    • Complete all welding required for the project including all required preparation and completion of quality welds.
    • Maintaining readiness of equipment to complete all given tasking.
    • As part of the team, participate in efforts to improve processes and procedures for welding and fabrication tasks that meet production and integration objectives.
    • As needed, support the development of jigs/fixtures, and support other related assembly and fabrication tasks.
    • Collaborate with the project team to analyze technical documentation including drawings, schematics, and layouts, ensuring practical alignment with welding processes for production.
    • Conduct inspections, tests, evaluations, and document results for equipment and processes, proactively identifying and resolving issues to minimize rework.
    • Duties may include additional technician work as needed in disassembly / reassembly of components and systems in process for completion.

    Qualifications

    Education and Experience:

    • Associate degree in a related discipline with a minimum of three (3) years of relevant experience, or a high school diploma/GED with at least five (5) years of experience in welding and fabrication.

    Required Skills and Qualifications:

    • Ability to read, interpret, and follow technical drawings, schematics, and standard operating procedures.
    • Demonstrated skill in welding techniques and fabrication processes, including MIG, TIG, cutting/prep, metal work, etc...
    • Understand how to select the right tool or process for completing the given tasks and producing the required outcomes.
    • Ability to perform routine work with flexibility for variations in complexity, collaborating with higher-level personnel for guidance when necessary.
    • Organizational skills with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
    • Basic computer skills with Microsoft Office Suite tools, including Outlook, Excel, Word, and Teams.
    • No clearance required to start but must be able to obtain a Secret Security Clearance. SAIC will sponsor the clearance process.

    Highly Desired Skills and Experience:

    • Formal training or certifications in welding (e.g., AWS or similar).
    • Active DoD Secret clearance.
