A global provider of pipeline isolation, hot tapping, and plugging services to the energy industry is seeking a
Welding Supervisor to join the team. This hands-on leadership role involves supervising welding operations and ensuring the safe, high-quality, and timely fabrication of pressure-retaining components, while guiding a team of welders in achieving production goals. The Welding Lead is responsible for promoting a culture of safety, accountability, and continuous improvement across welding operations.

Responsibilities:- Lead and coordinate daily welding activities to meet production schedules, safety standards, and quality expectations.
- Interpret and apply engineering drawings, blueprints, and welding procedures to ensure accurate fabrication of pressure-retaining components.
- Perform hands-on welding tasks as needed using MIG, TIG, Flux Core, and Stick techniques to support workflow and maintain quality standards.
- Supervise, mentor, and train welders, ensuring consistent adherence to welding procedures and company standards.
- Monitor progress and performance of welding operations, identifying and addressing any delays, quality concerns, or safety risks.
- Conduct inspections of completed welds to verify compliance with specifications, Welding Procedure Specifications (WPS), and industry standards.
- Promote and enforce a strong safety culture by modeling best practices and ensuring proper use of PPE and welding equipment.
- Collaborate with the Weld Shop Foreman and cross-functional teams to optimize shop workflow and resolve production issues.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and well-equipped work area, ensuring all welding tools and equipment are properly maintained.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives by suggesting enhancements to welding processes, training, and safety procedures.
- Perform additional duties as assigned by the Weld Shop Foreman or Operations Manager.
Individual Quality and Safety Responsibilities- Comply with all company and/or client quality, safety, and environmental management systems and procedures at all times.
- Immediately report all accidents, incidents, near misses, or hazards to your manager or foreman and complete the required documentation.
- Do not perform any task unless you have been properly trained and authorized to do so - when in doubt, stop and ask.
Requirements:- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Certification in MIG, TIG, Flux Core, or Stick welding preferred
- Completion of technical training or apprenticeship in welding or fabrication is an asset
- Must be able to pass a 6GR welding test
- 5-10 years of experience in welding, pipe fitting, and fabrication
- 3+ years of experience in a lead or supervisory role within a welding environment
- Advanced proficiency in MIG, TIG, Flux Core, and Stick welding techniques
- Strong knowledge of pressure-retaining equipment and pressure vessel welding standards
- Skilled in reading and interpreting welding symbols, blueprints, and technical drawings
- Competent in fitting and assembling components with precision and minimal supervision
- Able to troubleshoot welding issues and recommend practical, safe solutions
- Experienced in maintaining welding equipment and monitoring consumables
- Understanding of and adherence to Welding Procedure Specifications (WPS
- Strong leadership, communication, and mentoring abilities within a team environment
- Proven ability to uphold safety standards, quality control, and production targets
- Self-motivated, dependable, and demonstrates strong leadership under pressure
- Willing to work overtime or adjust to production schedules to meet team goals and deadlines
- Must have reliable transportation to support consistent onsite attendance
