General Description:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Welding Engineer to join our team. The ideal candidate will hold an engineering degree and possess 5+ years of experience in welding design, specifications, and production welding. Expertise in MIG, TIG, and robotic welding is strongly preferred. This role is critical in ensuring the design, development, and implementation of efficient welding processes while maintaining high standards of quality and safety.


RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Weld Design and Specifications:
  • Develop and interpret welding specifications for various projects.
  • Collaborate with engineering teams to ensure weld designs meet product requirements and quality standards.
  • Production Welding:
  • Oversee and optimize welding processes, ensuring alignment with production goals.
  • Design welding fixtures and tooling that deliver process and quality improvements.
  • Lead troubleshooting efforts for welding-related issues and implement corrective actions.
  • Evaluate new welding technologies and recommend improvements to enhance efficiency.
  • Process Development and Optimization:
  • Develop and implement welding procedures for MIG, TIG, and robotic welding.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance welding quality and productivity.
  • Ensure compliance with industry standards and safety regulations
  • Robotic and Automation Welding:
  • Program and operate robotic welding systems.
  • Integrate robotic welding processes into production workflows.
  • Quality Assurance:
  • Establish and maintain quality control measures for weld inspection and testing.
  • Conduct root cause analysis and implement corrective actions for weld defects.
  • Team Collaboration and Leadership:
  • Work closely with cross-functional teams, including design, manufacturing, and quality departments.
  • Provide technical guidance and training to production staff on welding techniques and standards.


QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Education:
  • Bachelor's degree in Welding Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
  • Experience:
  • Minimum of 5 years in weld design, specifications, and production welding.
  • Proficiency in MIG, TIG, and robotic welding processes is highly preferred.
  • Technical Skills:
  • Strong knowledge of welding standards, specifications, and industry best practices.
  • Proficient with AWS PQR, WPS, and WPQR creation.
  • Experience with welding equipment programming and maintenance.
  • Familiarity with CAD software for weld design is a plus.
  • Key Competencies:
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration abilities.
  • Commitment to quality, safety, and continuous improvement.
  • STRONG preference for individual holding current CWI certification.
